Each of the drawings in this collection is based on a still life set up that is comprised of various objects. Although there is no larger conceptual meaning to these works, in each I strived to not only capture the objects but utilize the materials to create a visually interesting piece.

In creating this site I not only wanted to showcase my best work but all the smaller or less successful works that lead to an artist's best work. This collection is made entirely of doodles in my sketchbook. Some were created just for enjoyment and in others I was working on ideas that I would later use in larger works. Though they are in no way finished pieces I feel they are an important part of the artistic process.
human
The subject of each of these works is the human body. In each piece I worked to gain a better understanding of the human form, how to translate it into a two-dimensional image and how to work from direct observation of the figure.
This piece was one of my first figurative drawings. In this drawing I strived to capture the model's facial features as well as his emotive qualities.
In these sketches my goal was to capture the gesture or body position of the model in a matter of seconds as her/she moved quickly from one position to another.
In these sketches I worked to gain a better understanding of various parts of the human figure.
ISland things
These four paintings were created as part of a small body of work that I submitted to the University of Cambridge as a part of my AS level exams in 2010. This body of work encompasses a number of finished drawings as well as preliminary work. Each work is a study of fauna found around my island home of Grand Cayman. In this body of work I wanted to examine these species which have cultural significance and depict the daily sights of my home.
This piece was created as my final exam. We were given a number of weeks to prepare a work and on exam day we were given a large sheet of paper (approximately 3 X 2') and a set time limit in which to create our work. When the time was up the works were collected and sent to the board of examiners.
This piece was one of two preliminary works that I created in preparation for the final exam.
